Pastor Thomas Bridgmon, Senior Pastor
Pastor Thomas started his ministry with South Avenue Baptist Church August 28, 2022. He grew up in a Christian home and accepted Christ and was baptized at a young age. He received a Bachelor of Music degree in 2004 from Houston Baptist University and a Master of Arts in Christian Ministry in 2014 from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary.
Pastor Thomas came to South Avenue Baptist having previously served as the Senior Pastor at Merlin Community Baptist Church in Merlin, OR. He also served as senior pastor at Second Baptist Church in Lake Jackson, TX. Prior to serving as senior pastor, Pastor Thomas served as a Youth/Music Minister from 2001 to 2014. He and his wife, Rebekah, have been blessed with four children: Jeremiah, Kristian, Zachariah, and Daniel.
Jim has a BA from Greenville College (1969), Master of Divinity (1972) and Doctor of Ministry (1975) from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has been in the ministry here at SABC since August, 1978. As a caring and compassionate minister, Jim has walked with many of us through good times and challenging times. His heart is always for God’s people. As Associate Pastor, Jim leads our Sunday School, has administrative responsibilities as well as many Pastoral Ministry opportunities.
Jim and his wife, Linda, have been married since 1971 and have two children. Their son, Tim, is a pastor and hospice chaplain, currently serving in Muncie, Indiana. Their daughter Kimberly works for Texas Children's Hospital as a Marketing Specialist. Kimberly and her husband, Chris, have three children.

Bill Ingram accepted the position as Music Minister April 24, 2011. He came to SABC with thirty-nine years of full-time music ministry experience, of which twenty-seven years were served as Associate Pastor of Music and Administration at First Baptist Church of Baytown. Since his retirement in 2001 from First Baptist, Baytown, Bill has been active in several churches serving in an interim capacity as well as serving as Area Music Specialist for the Baptist General Convention of Texas. Bill was licensed to the Gospel Ministry by First Baptist Church of Longview and was ordained to the Gospel Ministry by First Baptist Church, Baytown.
Bill and his wife, Sylvia, both being graduates of East Texas Baptist University, have two children and four grandchildren. Their son, Brad, is a basketball coach and math teacher at Bowie High School and also serves as a deacon at Bannockburn Baptist Church. He and his wife, Amy, have blessed Bill and Sylvia with twin granddaughters and a grandson. Their daughter, Shari, resides in Baytown and is a City of Houston employee. She has one daughter.
