Our Sunday morning worship service lasts about an hour. We begin with about 25 minutes of blended worship: some old traditional hymns and some contemporary praise songs.
In the middle of the music portion, one of our Deacons will read the scripture text for the morning sermon and lead in prayer. This is a chance for all of us to give over to God whatever burdens we brought into the service, so that we can simply focus on Him.
We have an offertory at the mid-point of the service. This is a chance for church members to worship God through giving their tithes and other offerings. If you are a guest of our church, WE DO NOT EXPECT YOU TO GIVE A THING! We can't emphasize that strongly enough. If you share your information with us through a "let's get acquainted card," it would thrill us to no end.
Finally, our pastor delivers a message from the Bible.
At the close of the service, there is an invitation hymn. During this final song, everyone has the opportunity to come forward and speak to the pastor, to express a desire to follow Christ for the first time, to rededicate his or her life, or to join the church.
Just understand this: If you choose to be our guest in worship, we want you to feel comfortable. We will not make you feel awkward or out of place. We won't single you out or make you answer any questions. Just come, worship with us, and respond in whatever way God leads.
Sunday night worship is a lot like morning worship, only a bit more laid-back. the messages are more Bible-intensive on Sunday nights, as well. Wednesday nights, we have a prayer request time, followed by group prayer. Then a short verse-by-verse Bible study. Once a month, we have church business meeting on Wednesday night, but you are certainly welcome to observe. We still have a prayer time on business meeting nights, and if the meeting doesn't go on too long, we have a Bible study on those nights, too.
