Family: Married to Chris in December 1955; One son, Mark (DOB 1956, DOD 1996) One daughter, Lydia (DOB 1961) is married and a legal librarian at a law firm in Houston, TX. One grandson, James, born May 20, 1993.

Jim Overton, Associate Pastor |

Jim has a BA from Greenville College and MDiv and DMin from Southwestern Seminary. He has been in the ministry for 35 years; 30 of those years have been here at South Avenue. As a caring and compassionate minister, Jim has walked with many of us through good times and challenging times. His heart is always for God's people. As Associate Pastor, Jim leads our Sunday School, has administrative responsibilities as well as many Pastoral Ministry opportunities.
Jim and his wife, Linda, have been married 37 years and have two children. Their son, Tim, is currently Pastor of Halteman Village Baptist Church in Muncie, Indiana. Their daughter, Kimberly, works for an architectural firm in Houston. Her husband, Chris, is an Registered Nurse at Clear Lake Regional Hospital in Clear Lake. |

Carson Jones - Minister of Youth |

Carson accepted Christ at the age of six and then received his call to the ministry as a sophomore in high school. Prior to accepting the position with SABC on April 10, 2011, Carson served as a Youth Leader intern at Fairmont Park Baptist Church in La Porte, Texas where he was ordained to the ministry in March, 2011.
Carson graduated from La Porte High School in 2006 and the University of Houston Clear Lake in May, 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts in History. He plans to attend the Houston Campus of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in the spring of 2011. |

Bill Ingram - Minister of Music |

Bill Ingram accepted the position as Music Minister April 17, 2011. He came to SABC with thirty-nine years of full-time music ministry experience, of which twenty-seven years were served as Associate Pastor of Music and Administration at First Baptist Church of Baytown. Since his retirement in 2001 from First Baptist, Baytown, Bill has been active in several churches serving in an interim capacity as well as serving as Area Music Specialist for the Baptist General Convention of Texas. Bill was licensed to the Gospel Ministry by First Baptist Church of Longview and was ordained to the Gospel Ministry by First Baptist Church, Baytown.
Bill and his wife, Sylvia, both being graduates of East Texas Baptist University, have two children and four grandchildren. Their son, Brad, is a basketball coach and math teacher at Bowie High School and also serves as a deacon at Bannockburn Baptist Church. He and his wife, Amy, have blessed Bill and Sylvia with twin granddaughters and a grandson. Their daughter, Shari, resides in Baytown and is a City of Houston employee. She has one daughter.
