At South Avenue our programs for adults promote fellowship, spiritual growth and seek to meet the unique needs of every person.
Sunday School:
Sunday School is the largest and perhaps the most important organization for adults at South Avenue. There are Sunday School Departments for each age group from collage age to senior adults. Sunday School classes study the Bible, of course, but also are the center of fellowship and ‘belonging’ in the church. Sunday School meets at 9:45 AM each Sunday.
Senior Adults
In addition to Sunday School, Senior Adults at South Avenue meet twice a month for food and fun. Senior Adult Game Day is from 10 AM until every one leaves on the first and third Monday of each month in the fellowship hall (Building 2). Seniors enjoy a pot luck meal and play games (mostly 42 and ‘train’) and just have a good time of fellowship.
Women's Ministry
The Women's Ministry is active and busy planning events that will enrich our members and provide spiritual growth. Events have included a Women's Retreat, game nights, a Christmas Banquet, Women's Bible Studies, Scrapbooking, Bunko and much more. The women's ministry is also active in working to support local charities and missions. Watch for announcements in the weekly worship program or contact the Church office or see Frieda Shafer for details.
Widows Friendship Circle
The Friendship Circle is a group of women from South Avenue who meet together monthly for the purposes of fellowship, sharing, prayer and support in dealing with the death of their spouses. Other occasional activities are planned. Contact the office or Linda Overton for details.
